December for my hair :)

As my December follow up, I have bleached my hair on December the 7th with Joico Verolight powder this time - not the usual paste. That's 30 days from my last bleach on November 9th. The paste is MUCH more gentler, although its a pain in the butt to apply. It seems that I lost a little more volume again...sigh...I would say 5%, but at least not in length.

Sadly it escapes me why, as I used Brazillian bond builder during the service, and used only 3%(10 volume Developer), and I didn't overlap. The service time was about 1 hr and I didn't get as clean of a lift as I get with paste. My only guess would be that usually I apply "sour conditioner"mix before washing out bleach - I mix 25% lemon juice with regular conditioner and apply it prior washing the bleach off which should protect the rest of the length from bleach's alkali environment. I think failing to protect it (the way I usually do) might have been a mistake. I simply washed off with Lanza Healing Pure Clarifying shampoo and then did a superb job at toning this month. I mixed a hair mask by Narsya Argan & Keratin for weak and damaged hair, and mixed a little bit of purple shampoo by Fanola. After 20 minutes the shade was beautiful white blonde :). It's a common misconception that you need to DYE your hair in order to tone it. Well it's no coincidence that dye rhymes with die = as in, die, hair follicles! The truth is you can use a hair mask anywhere from 30 min to 2 hrs to get a deep toning when pigment reaches your cuticle - of course hair cap + towel would help too.


However my hair got a consolation present For Christmas 🎄: a legendary mask HYDRA by Kaaral in mint colored jar, made with Royal Jelly. I’m happy to report that my hair is the most softest hat it’s ever felt after it! BABY soft!!! However there’s one catch :) This mask does not discipline hair - I still needed my oils.
  Secondly, and I HAVE to talk about the elephant in the room: the smell of this mask. The smell is quite awful - that o
f a wet dirty dog quite honestly - and this smell stays about 1-2 days in the hair, it’s very strong. However the payoff is worth it to me, the hair is shiny and soft.
   I wanted to touch and touch my hair, and even curled it with soft curlers. Its extremely hydrating as the name suggests - but most importantly it hydrates THE ENDS of the hair, which was the most amazing thing that I've ever seen since I've become bleach blonde last year. 
It's a true miracle. 💖I haven't seen a single product - including oils and hair serums - that can do that to the very ends of your hair, which normally feel totally dead. I think if you are like me and trying to grow out your hair, this mask is bomb!  :)
And yeah, if you have noticed, most recently I only do services on my hair during the growth phase of the Moon! So this coming February I decided to have it cut a bit (very tiny bit, maybe one cm) - if you are also growing out your hair, write this date down: February 17, 2019 will be a perfect day to do a haircut so to encourage "wild hair growth". The secret?. I was told that when the Moon is in it's growth phase and in a sign of Leo its best to do any hair procedure to encourage growth (think thick, wonderful, long, lush mane that you want to touch and touch) . You can do a procedure like hair botox, haircut, keratin treatment and of course color that you want to be long lasting.
