So... I jumped on a No Poo vagon completely accidentally. You see I accidentally bought a conditioner thinking it was shampoo and started noticing that my hair has been ridiculously soft lately. As artificially Blonde - and I will talk about my methods of de-coloring later - it felt like a sudden epiphany: I am in no way a “natural” girl; in fact I’m chasing the latest and the greatest in hair industry because my lightened hair is dry and prone to breakage. My hair has been a source of woe for the last two years - like a small autistic child, it’s been demanding non stop attention and getting on my nerves.
...Fast forward two years, I had been unable to grown it past 11 inches in front (its longer in the back, about 14 inches simply because I lost those 3 frontal inches in a matter of 2 weeks to horrible breakage after dying my hair with high lift formula by Keune) You might be thinking:”she must be torturing her hair with a 40 volume developer and crazy amount of heat styling, to experience this kind of breakage, right?. WRONG! I am kind and respectful to my hair - if anything I pamper my hair like a true hair maniac, with the most expensive treatments that exist on the planet. However my hair is a terrible snob, after it’s gone blonde.
My hair goal right now is to grow out a beautiful waist length BLONDE thick lustrous and healthy locks - I am partial to Elsa type, pearl white hair “color”: although those who dye their hair “white” know that there IS no such color as white: we simply de-color our hair so after undergoing bleaching process it’s technically colorless. The actual pigment that we replace is actually blue and purple :))) Thus blondes are forced to compensate for lost pigment by toning and washing with purple shampoo/conditioner.
Right now the game plan is to keep bleaching roots with 10 volume developer and bleach every 4 weeks and to stay away from any hair dyes (including toners). I wash my hair with eggs - plain old raw egg yolks, now. I use only purple conditioner as a hair dye: by keeping it on my hair for several hours, I’m able to get the same effects without all the damage.
Treatments that I currently enjoy and fully endorse are Paul Mitchell Awapuhi 2 step keratin treatment and Botox for hair filler by Lador (read my individual reviews for these products on this blog).
How I dry my hair: naturally or with hair dryer on Cold. I don’t brush my hair, which is also designed to be a part of my “no hair left behind” policy. Every follicle counts...And it will count until I have finally reached my goal. From 14 inches to 18, to 20 inches, to 22, to 26! And I will be measuring my progress here every month.
