2 Week Update after bleach

It has now been two weeks after my roots have been retouched with Barex Superplex lightening powder - since then I have not changed much in my hair routine. I haven’t been shedding, and my lengths have been the same, although I will do measurements on my next post. I have been curling my hair lately - using gentle foam rollers for an hour or so in he mornings, - other than that I have received a new product - Tada!!! It’s long awaited Keratin Gold Oil by Tahe. I can’t even tell you what a disappointment it has been (I will post a separate review in the review section soon). Basically the Hask Keratin Oil that I had had ran out on me - they come in very small ampulles - and so I want naturally for any oil to do the following: - Since I have many broken/split hairs sort of sticking out I need the oil to be oily enough in order to smooth them down (Hair discipline is not an easy task) - Not to be too perfumed, as I get allergies -To soften and moisturize my hair -To prevent breakage,...

Hair Lightening at home with professional bleach powder: HOW TO LIGHTEN YOUR HAIR + PHOTO

Hello everybody, Today I want to share with you my experience of lightening my hair using professional bleaching powder by Barex called Superplex: this powder is a fantastic innovative product from Italy offering a terrific built-in protection for hair shaft - imagine adding Olaplex to your regular powder but without all the hassle - the ingredient is fully disclosed to be a “Polyamino Sugar Condensate”, a blend of sugars and proteins made to prevent breakage. The seller included many free samples of Italian hair products so I’m delighted that I will have a few more products to review in the next few days. The developer I chose was a 50/50 mix of volume 20 and volume 10: so around vol.15 or 4,5% peroxide content. According to instructions printed on the tub, we are to mix 1:2 ratio of white powder to developer, which I followed. How Much Product? For my shoulder length hair I took 2 scoops powder (30 ml scoop x2) and 4 scoops developer. I think longer hair would need double tha...

January Hair

It’s January, happy New Year to all Hair maniacs across the globe!. I’m evaluating/measuring my hair. It’s still as damaged as can be - my main gripe is I lost crazy amount of volume to breakage in the fall (which you can see, there are stubs all over my hair not just the ends). So here goes - Hair freshly washed with egg yolk+yogurt+rosemary Essential Oil mix and mask Kaaral Hydra mixed with 1 teaspoon of Keratin P mask applied for an hour, followed by conditioner. Did my hair receive some sweet loving or what?. ;) After that, I blow dried with cool air and applied hair vitamins “Bali Secret” plus oil by Tigi S Factor true lasting color.: none of them give me shine or combat flyaways.  The best tool for flyaways (that I personally know of)  is Keratin Oil by Hask - it really tames the undisciplined hair that sticks out with no reason or rhyme. As far an inches I am definitely noticing some growth this month! New mask: this month I was sent a free trial of Fanola Restru...

FIVE Useful Tips for healthier hair TODAY. Say "No" to scissors!

For those who are especially fond of their hair: I will tell you how to rescue the most damaged hair! I know that you might be hungry for more posts with stories and advice about "what to do?" so that the quality of your hair becomes better, and its length - greater!. ...And yet, too many of us start taking care of our hair only when it starts breaking, splitting, and becomes dry... That’s fundamentally wrong because your hair needs your loving care all the time, every season, and not just when you suddenly decided to pay it some of your precious attention!. Therefore this blog was born with secrets and tips for a beautiful mane you can be proud of. 1. Don’t over-wash your hair til it “squeaks”, even if you have oily hair : washing more often won’t save you, if you over-dry your hair by constant washing, instead you will invite dandruff and hair loss. But more importantly it will become oily even sooner!!! 2. If your hair is overly dry, breaks off, or you are force...

December for my hair :)

As my December follow up, I have bleached my hair on December the 7th with Joico Verolight powder this time - not the usual paste. That's 30 days from my last bleach on November 9th. The paste is MUCH more gentler, although its a pain in the butt to apply. It seems that I lost a little more volume again...sigh...I would say 5%, but at least not in length. Sadly it escapes me why, as I used Brazillian bond builder during the service, and used only 3%(10 volume Developer), and I didn't overlap. The service time was about 1 hr and I didn't get as clean of a lift as I get with paste. My only guess would be that usually I apply "sour conditioner"mix before washing out bleach - I mix 25% lemon juice with regular conditioner and apply it prior washing the bleach off which should protect the rest of the length from bleach's alkali environment. I think failing to protect it (the way I usually do) might have been a mistake. I simply washed off with Lanza Healing Pure...

Going No Poo and history of my hair

So... I jumped on a No Poo vagon completely accidentally. You see I accidentally bought a conditioner thinking it was shampoo and started noticing that my hair has been ridiculously soft lately. As artificially Blonde - and I will talk about my methods of de-coloring later - it felt like a sudden epiphany: I am in no way a “natural” girl; in fact I’m chasing the latest and the greatest in hair industry because my lightened hair is dry and prone to breakage. My hair has been a source of woe for the last two years - like a small autistic child, it’s been demanding non stop attention and getting on my nerves. ...Fast forward two years, I had been unable to grown it past 11 inches in front (its longer in the back, about 14 inches simply because I lost those 3 frontal inches in a matter of 2 weeks to horrible breakage after dying my hair with high lift formula by Keune) You might be thinking:”she must be torturing her hair with a 40 volume developer and crazy amount of heat styling, to ex...
